Marshall Day Acoustics Pty Ltd
Gipps St, Collingwood, VIC, Australia
Dec 2002 - June 2003

Testing at Commonwealth Games Villiage

Marshall Day Acoustics provide a wide range of acoustical, environmental noise, and noise control design services, including concert hall and auditoria design, environmental noise assessments, building services and industrial noise control.

My involvement in this firm generally centred around the analysis of mechanical services in large apartment developments.  These developments include Yarra's Edge (Mirvac), Freshwater Place (Australand), and Victorian College of the Arts Drama Centre (Castles Stephenson and Turner Pty Ltd).  Also, I researched and implemented SEPP N-1 regulations (state noise regulations) for the Salvation Army Crisis Centre, and was heavily involved in refurbishment of the Bendigo Law Courts.

Sovereign Hill
Bradshaw St, Ballarat, VIC, Australia
Dec 1996 - Present

Redcoats, Sovereign Hill

Sovereign Hill is Australia's foremost outdoor museum. Built on a 25 hectare (60 acre) site linked with the richest alluvial goldrush in the world, Sovereign Hill faithfully depicts Ballarat's first ten years after the discovery of gold in 1851.  My involvement since 1996 with the park has involved Tour guiding, Street Theatre, Backstage theatre technician, Miner, Blacksmith, Saddler, Shop Keeper, and reguarly undertaking roles within the park such as the 'trooper' (policeman) and 'redcoat', (soldier).  I have also been involved over the years in marketing and promotions work (most significantly representing Sovereign Hill at the 150th celebrations of the Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce function at the Melbourne town hall) and staff traning of junior staff members.
